“Oh man, Climate in Bangalore is becoming unpredictable day by day”.

This is not only the scene of Bangalore but also the scene of every developing city around the globe. How can it be better? Why the Govt. is not taking any actions to improve the condition?

Is it really the sole responsibility of the Govt. to take care of these issues? No!! We are living here and when we access our rights provided by Govt. then we have to obey our duties as well (told/untold). We can do a lot!! We just need to give a deep thought over it and come to a decision of what is best for the society and environment. If we can change our small habbits, we will be helping the environment directly/indirectly.

Here are some of the examples:

Use dustbins rather than throwing garbage on the Road or any other open area. Specially the plastic.
Switch off the lights, fans, AC, computer monitor or any other electric equipment when not in use. Make sure you switch off your monitor while leaving the office (if you are using the one).
Switch off the engine if you have to stand somewhere for more than two minutes.
Come back to handkerchiefs and stop/minimize using the paper towels/napkins.
Don’t waste the water and use it efficiently.
Don’t waste the food.

Believe me, all the above can be done easily with a little cautiousness and pain. After all: No gain without pain.
If you have some more ideas, please let me know and I will add those in my life and in this list.

Dude,There is a lot that the government(s) can do to ease the pain.1. Put bus-routes on buses in english apart from kannada.2. Create incentives for car-pooling and open up public transport to free-market.3. Tax incentives for Internet broadband for users who telecommute and companies who encourage telecommute for atleast 2 days in a week.4. Place dust-bin(s) so citizens can use them.5. Liberalize transport department rules to allow any vehicle owner to act as a cab/taxi ride without going through the atrocious and corruption ridden process of registering as a commercial-use vehicle. Basically all the call-center/software-company vehicles should be able to offer and charge for a ride without fear of harassment by traffic police.6. Create faster moving lanes for carpools with 2 or more riders.-Tarun

I agree with you Tarun that there is a lot to be done by govt. but in my article I talked about what can we do to improve the situation.Your points are valid but in most of these points, govt. has to take the initiative.
